Who we work with

Baan helps retirees and families from the UK and elsewhere explore retirement living and care in Thailand. We look for providers who deliver a good service and can explain it honestly to people making a decision from abroad.

Senior living and retirement residences

Independent and assisted living, serviced residences and retirement communities.

Nursing homes and care homes

Residential care, nursing care, dementia care and rehabilitation after a hospital stay.

Home care agencies

Carers and nurses who visit or live in, for people who want to stay in their own home.

Wellness and long-stay providers

Long-stay wellness, therapy and healthy-ageing programmes suited to retirees.

What Baan does

  • We explain your service clearly, in English, to retirees and families overseas, including what you can and cannot take on.
  • Before an introduction we talk each enquiry through: area, timing, budget, the kind of support involved and who is deciding.
  • We share a person’s details with you only with their consent.
  • We help arrange first video calls, visits and trial stays where you offer them.
  • We help families with the practical steps around a move, so they arrive prepared.

What we ask of partners

  • The licence relevant to the service you provide
  • Clear written prices, stating what is included and what is charged separately
  • Your own assessment before you accept someone
  • How you handle emergencies and transfers to hospital
  • Honest information on staffing, night cover and English-speaking staff
  • Video calls, visits or trial stays for families, where you can offer them
  • Telling us promptly when availability or prices change

How partnering works

    Send us an email

Tell us about your organisation using the prompts below, in Thai or English.

  2. 2

    Introductory call

We learn about your services, the people you support well and your current availability.

  3. 3

    Visit and information

Where practical we visit, and ask for the details families will need: licence, prices, assessment and emergency process.

  4. 4

    Agree in writing

We agree the areas, the types of enquiry you want and any commercial terms before any introduction.

  5. 5

    Introductions

When an enquiry suits your service and the family agrees, we introduce them. You assess, contract and invoice directly.

Areas. We currently make introductions in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Hua Hin. We are building our network in Pattaya and Chonburi and would especially like to hear from providers there. Providers elsewhere in Thailand are welcome to get in touch too.

Common questions

Is there a fee to become a partner?

No. There is no fee to talk to us or to be considered. Any commercial arrangement, such as a referral fee, is agreed in writing with each provider before any introduction.

Will families know about any referral fee?

Yes. Baan tells families about any referral arrangement that applies to an option before they decide. Baan does not currently have a referral arrangement with any provider.

Who does the family contract with?

With you. The family sees your own contract and prices and pays you directly. Baan advises and coordinates. Accommodation, personal care, nursing, treatment, insurance and immigration services are provided by the relevant independent providers or qualified professionals under their own terms.

Do we have to accept every introduction?

No. You carry out your own assessment and decide whether you can support the person. We would rather hear that you cannot help than have a family rely on something that does not fit.

Can we contact you in Thai?

Yes. You can write to us and speak with us in Thai or English.
